Fishnet’s have long been a staple for sexy.  From the beginning they were made for lingerie and “Ladies of the Night”.  But in the 21st century they can worn any time of the day on any woman who can make this strong fashion statement look good.  Unfortunately, there are many women who think they make it look good, but either do not have the right legs or wear them with an outfit that makes them come across as – for lack of a better word – trashy.  But know that if you’ve got the goods, you too can wear fishnets.  Just look at some of these styles to know the best way to wear your sexy tights this autumn.

Traditional Black Fishnets

Wear the traditional black fishnet in this fashion with knee-high boots and a short sweater dress.  I even love the leg warmers underneath the boots too!  But you can also wear them with skirts below the knee or even dressy crop pants and subtle heels or ankle boots.  Just give yourself a bit of color with a perfectly tied scarf!

Patterned Fishnets

Taylor Momsen is known for her fishnets.  I mean, the girl is always wearing them!  Though I do not agree with all of the fishnet fashion choices she makes, I do believe this one is spot on.  The outfit she is donning would not be the same without the floral print climbing up and down her legs.  Pairing these stockings with pretty clothing will create a rather sexy girl!

Nude Fishnets

Here, Megan Fox has created an effortless yet elegant ensemble.  You may not realize but she is actually wearing small mesh nude fishnets that – when looking closer at them – gives her simple guise, an edgy feel.  And isn’t that what Fox is know for? Classic beauty with a bit of edge?  I love these stockings at anytime of day with almost any ensemble because they are so subtle.

Fishnet’s at the Office

Though I do no recommend wearing fishnets in your workplace, here is a way you can slip them on without looking like you are trying to get your boss to give you a raise:  With pants.  ”What?!” you may say.  That defeats the purpose right?  But it doesn’t.  By wearing the stockings with pants, you can still allow a little to show on the top of our feet.  This way your outfit looks appropriate, but your feet have some style and texture.

General Rules For Wearing Fishnet’s

• If you wear them during the day, it’s best to go with small holed mesh stockings.  Wearing large holed mesh during the day sends the wrong message.  But in the evening, they can be fun and sexy.  Just be sure you are going to hang out in the right areas.  Stay away from street corners!
• Stay away from fishnets with holes.  Really, you may think it’s cool but it’s just not.
• And unless you are waiting for your husband to come home, I would also steer clear of thigh-high fishnet stockings that require a garter belt.  Okay I guess they work with a longer skirt or any type of pant, but with anything above the knee others will end up gawking in disgusted amazement as you sit down.
• Be aware of the body type you have.  Know that some women may have the fashion sense to wear fishnets, but not the body.  Only you can know for sure.  Just use your common sense.
• Lastly, wear them around Halloween!  Different colors and styles can be so interesting and fun.
