The FDA just waved weight restrictions to allow the Terrafugia Transition as a “Light Sport Aircraft” but they can’t fool us, this is a genuine FLYING CAR!!! Yes, the future the Jetson’s promised us is finally here. The Transition has a top flying speed of 115 MPH, a range of 430 miles and it fits in a standard garage. Come it’s official 2011 release you will finally be able to buy a car that, in a pinch, can actually fly you over traffic.
Of course… it’s not quite that simple. The Transition looks a lot more like a small plane than a car, even if it does technically fit on a standard road with it’s wings folded up.
It also costs $200,000, so a cheap alternative to a freeway commute this is not. But hey, maybe the next model will look like a Corvette and cost $20,000. Hey, a girl can dream, right?
