Being in the know is an important part of being a Frockable Fashionista, but we fashion maven’s can’t just be in the know on the latest celebrity gossip, hot film trailers and big fashion action – we need to keep an eye on world politics as well.  And in the United States, little is more important in politics than the nomination of a new Supreme Court Justice.  With no term limits, and no real accountability to anyone but their fellow justices once they’ve donned their robes, these seven people comprise one of the most powerful forces in our country.

Elena Kagen’s confirmation hearings on Captial Hill are getting underway, and while they may be light on fashion inspiration, the hearings are the kind of thing that fashionable people everywhere should at least be able to comment on if the subject comes up over cocktails.  For that matter, the decisions that the Supreme Court of the United States a.k.a SCOTUS are often about things that affect all of our lives.  Luckily for us, the SCOTUS Blog is busy keeping the world posted on Supreme Court affairs.  Keeping an eye on what’s happening inside those hallowed halls should be de rigueur for those who run in worldly circles.  Ignorance may be bliss, but it’s never in style.
