Dying for the latest iAccessory, the iPhone 4? You can place your pre-order now, either to be shipped to your home, free, or for in store pick up, but apparently only for the black version of the iPhone 4. The classic white version is apparently on hold, even for pre-order status.
“There is tremendous excitement for the new iPhone 4 and we are working to get as many of them into the hands of customers as possible,” an Apple rep told the San Francisco Chronicle. “At launch, we have the black models available for purchase and we will be adding the white models as quickly as we can.”
Clearly there’s a production problem somewhere, and we can only hope that those of us who need a phone to match our summer whites will be able to get our hands on the white iPhone 4 on or before launch date, which is set for June 24th.
According to the Chronicle, Apple is expected to ship 2 million iPhone 4 units it’s first weekend, including pre-orders. That’s double the size of the last two iPhone launches. People are already lining up to pre-order the device, much less pick it up, and the Apple website has gone down at least once this morning due to high demand.
