For the last year or so I’ve been coloring my hair at home in an effort to save money. Normally I use L’Oreal Creme Excellence but when I got a coupon for their newest formula, Healthy Look Creme Color I decided to give it a shot. Healthy Look Color is an ammonia free, 10 minute color that is infused with conditioners to help hydrate and nourish your hair is one of the easiest home colors I’ve tried. Depending on how long the grey coverage lasts I think I will be switching over to this formula permanently.

I have long hair so I picked up two boxes of color and followed the instructions for a first time application.There was almost no scent and the creme was thick and stayed in place with no color running down my neck or face. Since it takes me almost 20 minutes to apply color to my whole head by myself, I appreciated the 10 minute processing time. It cut the amount of time it normally takes to color in half and I was in the shower washing before I knew it.

The first thing I noticed when I was rinsing was how soft my hair felt even before conditioner. Most of the time when I color my hair is a knotted mess that requires tons of conditioner but there was a noticeable difference with this color and the conditioner that was included smelled really good. I still used my regular conditioner after to get maximum softness  and shine and combing out my hair was a lot easier than normal. There was no staining of my skin and my bathroom didn’t seem to suffer from flying hair color either.

The color is fantastic, a rich shade of chestnut brown that added tons of shine and covered all of my grey hair nicely. The color is similar enough to my old color that it blended in easily. I’m really glad that I’ve found a product that makes my home hair color experience that much easier.
